With more than a decade selling real estate in Melbourne’s prestigious Bayside market, Jack Johnstone brings a deep understanding of the local property landscape to BuyerX as Director of Bayside.

Having worked in senior roles with leading agencies including Nick Johnstone Real Estate, Buxton and Marshall White, Jack has built a reputation for strategic thinking, strong negotiation and an ability to guide clients confidently through complex property decisions. He also spent time as Head of Residential Sales at Development Ready, giving him valuable insight into development opportunities, feasibility and the broader property market.

Over the course of his career, Jack has conducted nearly 500 property auctions, including multiple auctions for homes selling in excess of $10 million, and has transacted hundreds of homes across the Bayside region. Many of these have been in Brighton and surrounding suburbs in the $2M–$4M range, with notable sales including 21 Menzies Avenue, Brighton for $6 million. His experience across Brighton, Brighton East, Hampton, Sandringham, Elwood and Beaumaris, as well as Bentleigh and Highett, has given him an intimate understanding of local values, buyer demand and street-by-street nuances.

Living in Brighton East and having spent most of his life in Bayside, Jack knows the area well beyond property prices. From understanding which streets fall within sought-after school zones, to recognising the subtle lifestyle differences between neighbourhoods, his knowledge helps clients make informed long-term decisions.

Jack’s passion lies in helping families secure homes that genuinely suit their lifestyle and future plans. He also works closely with downsizers, helping them balance emotional attachment with practical needs to ensure their next move works both financially and logistically. With his strong network and reputation among agents, he is also increasingly active in the prestige property market, where access, discretion and relationships are critical.

Known for being results-driven yet strategic in negotiation, Jack understands that every property and every campaign requires a different approach. Sometimes it’s about applying pressure and executing with precision; other times it’s about positioning buyers in the right place at the right time to secure the perfect home.

Because he has worked alongside many of Bayside’s leading selling agents throughout his career, Jack maintains one of the strongest local agent networks in the market. These relationships provide valuable insight into upcoming opportunities and off-market properties, while ensuring transactions are handled professionally and respectfully for all parties involved.

Outside of property, Jack is an avid golfer at Kingston Heath Golf Club, where he is actively involved with the club and its foundation. His strong ties to the local community reflect the same long-term connection he brings to his work with clients.
